With a name like Little Lebowski Urban Achievers one can't help but think this is all one big joke. Well, it was meant to be. But this one got out of hand. These musicians got together one time to get drunk and write short sloppy songs. The songs on Is This A Party or an Intervention are indeed short and sloppy and surprising if they aren't half bad. LLBA have that feel of an 90s punk band such as Samiam with emo-type song titles like "John Olerud Hasn't Changed In 10 Years So Why The Hell Should I?" This little 7" begins with more of a pop song called "I Wish I Knew How To Quit You" reminding me of Buffalo Tom or even earlier Promise Ring. A recording like "A Touch Of Dickel In Your Mouth" comes off quite sloppy but I honestly can't imagine it any other way.
Little Lebowski Urban Achievers aren't out to break down any barriers in music. No, these guys are just out for a good time. They're buying the next round so catch 'em live.
