RecommendMatt Bruno writes and plays some of the catchiest pop that has been recorded in years. It jingles and jangles and gets right into your every sense. The harmonies are perfect using such bands as Big Star, Beatles and Beach Boys as examples. Originally released last year by himself it wasn't long before the folks at Parasol records caught on to his brilliance and approached this Seattle based singer songwriter. With the re-release on Parasol Bruno added 2 tracks to the already catchy collection. The opening track "On top of the world" is one of these and you can tell this artist is not afraid to bear his soul no matter who is watching. I think Matthew Sweet is going to have to step aside to allow a new king of power pop to take over the throne. Matt Bruno has a bright future and if you like any sort of catchy power pop be sure to check out this fine release.
