RecommendBergraven is comprised of Swedes Par Gustaffssons on bass and guitar, and drummer Perra Karlsson. From such humble instrumentation comes a great wail of ambient doom, with haunting, brooding drone mixing with the cathartic screech of a metallic ambush.“Doende” the lead track, is an example of the latter, while the murky creep of “Ondkall” epitomizes the former. The eight tracks on Dodsvisioner offer fun and morose soundtracks equally for Goths, metalheads, and those deep in all-night study. As an added bonus, the titles to “Av Saknad Slacker Jag Ljuset” and “Ekot Av Bikt,” when repeated often, are good mantras for plotting your next excursion into the abyss of your unconscious; the songs themselves ain’t bad either. Tame your monkey mind, and your ass will follow.
