I'm not the biggest fan of punk
Somehow, Small Arms Dealer, your impressive punk anthems whose lyrics I couldn't dissect but were most likely about impeaching Bush were good and the music was just decent enough to make me want to start a mosh pit and beat the hell out of my sister. Yes, I literally considered 'accidentally' punching my sister.
But I didn't...
Instead, I listened to the full length, Patron Saint of Disappointment, and forced images of plaid-pants folk out of my head and let the Rise Against-esque jams roll over me and impress me more than Rise Against probably ever will. "Harry Houdini Says No and Proves It" is not only a hilarious title but a guitar driven devil that is probably the most exciting three minutes on the album. The ending, "Poltergeist!, Poltergeist!" is an elegantly composed acoustic jam that is really probably the best example of the rawness of the vocals throughout the album and makes me have faith in Small Arms Dealer--just like they want.
