Richard Shindell made quite a name for himself with 1998's effort Cry Cry Cry, a collaboration with Lucy Kaplansky and Dar Williams. This album should go one step further to cement his name into folks storybooks. Lucy and Dar make some appearances on this album. The personal "Confessions" (name of the first track on the disc) that each of these songs emote are beautiful. They're not all slow and personal, some of them really kick up in a bit of a celtic fashion. This is the debut for Richard on Signature Sounds and could be considered his best too. A great folk singer.
