Alligator Records was more or less created to house the talented slide guitar antics of Hound Dog Taylor. This first album for both Alligator and Taylor was a doozie. It is one of the best slide guitar blues album ever. Taylor was a real visionary as to where blues could head and how rocking they could actually be played. After 12 tracks it leaves you wanting even more of the same great stuff. It contains the classics "Give Me Back My Wig," "55th Street Boogie" and "Taylor's Rock". The logical and best place to start for any acoustic blues fan looking to get "electrified" as well as anyone even the slightest bit interested in the Houd Dog. A true original!
