RecommendPain Jerks/incapacitants Live At No Fun Fest is a glorious slab of insanity that will please masochists, sadists, Japanophiles and the sinus-afflicted everywhere. Live, both bands are overwhelming, and thank god! Blistering sheets of noise, with slight pauses during which you swear you can hear the audience gasping in surrender. No Fun Fest has become one of the most consistently adventurous and necessary fests ever. Sheets of frantic, outrageous noise that nevertheless evokes fun and catharsis rather than pain or terror; both band are adept at the pedals at making harsh noise comforting, if not relaxing. Both bands have released a ton of music, and most of it is hard to find. Kudos to No Fun for providing a great intro to Pain Jerks and Incapacitants, and for disseminating some of the most challenging but life-saving music around.
