I'm scared, readers. Like frightened enough to not get out of bed. I'm not understanding the chain of events occurring. 2007 has been one of the oddest years ever. Men seemed to have embraced keytars and My Little Pony commercials (copyright this joke/metaphor immediately, Dennis!). I've been under the impression that this pop-punk craze was supposed to die and make way for the second coming of either the British or Jesus. However, bands like Valencia, Boys Like Girls, Cute Is What We Aim For, All Time Low, and the focus of this review, Powerspace, are running my predictions straight to Hell. What the frick? My only salvation (the shittiest salvation ever) is that these bands are so alike that the only way I can tell them apart is by the scent of their gum. You get it? Bumblegum pop. Is this thing on?
Powerspace's debut album, The Kicks of Passion, is about as good as my cynical one-liners. Granted, Powerspace has constructed pop gems. Pity for them is so have a laundry list of other bands. They sound like a recycled regurgitation of the whole damn genre. Alec Cyganowski (Cig Uh Now Skee or Cig Ah Now Sky?) voice has the high-pitchedness that was the reason Blink-182 was so annoying along with the whiny inflection (see: "Amplifire") that is so damn grating--Christ!
It's a pity because jams like "Right On, Right Now" and "Dancing in the Future" are the kind of original streaks that could uplift them above the crowd. Songs like "Quarantine My Heart (Baby)" always get the crowdsurfer dropped to the ground. No one likes Hellogoodbye except for my little sister. Musicians, please grasp this!

This review is coming from the guy (me) who gave BLG a good score. I wonder about myself sometimes.

Harsh they are better than that. Come on they are more original than you gave them credit for they have a pop-punk-electro thing that not many other bands do. They are a little bit more punky than Hellogoodbye and different than All Time Low and the other pop punk bands.
