This Swedish duo has taken some cues from the likes of Serge Gainsbourg and Saint Etienne. They have come from their cute cuddly pop to a more romantic classic sound that suits them so much better. The music is very orchestral and Karolina Komstedt's vocals have become sultry and seductive. Club 8 is now a treat to tired ears. They perk up even the most depressed heart and trust me, today I need picking up. It doesn't even matter that they are singing about being heartbroken. I am one of those musical fans where the lyrics come second and the music comes first. Listen to the music and then if you are so inspired you can dive into the artist's feelings and lyrics. Karolina can coax a smile out of anyone and does so on this Club 8 release. This is a great soft rock album.
