Despite faltering at the end with “Raining Blood,” which bogs down in rhythmic clichés straight outta the 80’s (a great metal era from which to quote riffs, but doesn’t work here; though, Vader has been around since 1986, so what’s wrong with props for that decade?), “Lead Us!” is pretty frantic thrash metal, with more than enough sonic goodies to keep headbangers moody and slaked. The title track and “Die!!!” are especially crunchy and heavy. Guitarist Mauser is the hero of the set, as his lightning runs and sludgy riffs make up for the somewhat pedestrian growl of vocalist Peter (no last names in the liner notes—the bassist is Noby, with Daray on drums). His fretwork elevates this release higher than the band, with the exception of Daray, attempts to reach.This also comes with three videos, including the charming “Helleluyah!!! (God is Dead).” Again, it is only the guitarist who seems to really be kicking out the jams, or, I should say, shouting at the devil.
