When I first started listening to The Boneless Children Foundation's Stars For Anyone I was simply not impressed. This is an up-tempo album that is rather raw. While it has its' poetic moments, it also has equally as shallow lyrics too. The Boneless Children Foundation is a throwback band. They remind me of The Talking Heads or even at times The Who. To say it simply think 70's punk rock.
In my opinion the track Relax is easily the best of the set. It seems that this track is a turning point for the album. I found the album improved greatly after that. With songs like People Care About Their Cars, My Little Book, King, and Eyes Have Had Enough all being on the second half of the album it shows vast improvement from the likes of the second track Carl Sagan, which is pathetic, as is Sigh and Bee Keeper.
Overall, The Boneless Children Foundation while having a unique name came out with a rather generic album in, Stars For Anyone. If you are patient and willing to wait for it to be good and pick-up then you'll like this album. If you are one of the people who needs your album to grab your attention this will not be it. Nothing special here but definitely worth a listen because it does have its' bright spots.
