Cornershop have taken a bit of turn on Handcream for a Generation. After the unlikely hit with Fatboy Slim’s remix of “Brimfull of Asha I’m sure Tijinder Singh and friends had a refocusing not unlike what happened with Everything But The Girl’s hit “Missing. The The first single is called “Lessons Learned From Rocky I to Rocky III, which contains a riff almost like BTO’s “Taking Care Of Business. This track is the closest to where the band was on When I Was Born For The 7th Time. “Motion The Eleven is a superb reggae track. You may ask what business Cornershop have doing reggae but trust me, it’s really not that bad. The rest of the album relies heavily on disco beats and it really works. Approach Handcream for a Generation the way you would an artist that has refocused it’s approach. Cornershop did what they had to do to remain integral to today’s music scene. Give a few listens before you discard.
