Ida, I forgot about you. I truly am sorry. I realize that I've missed you now that my attention has been brought back to your wonderful music. The answer to the question you left me with: "Will You Find Me" appears to be yes. I have found you again and what glorious understated melodies you have brought to me.
Lovers Prayers is a lovely quiet pop album that unravels its true delights after a couple listens unless you get drawn in immediately with the first single and song on the album, the title track. The group found a recording haven in Levon Helm's (The Band) home studio located in the Catskill Mountains. I love how the layers of this album come out. See "The Love Below" for the exact reason. "Surely Gone" is another one that just seems to send shivers when the girls harmonize on the high notes. The quiet harmonies may be a little too subdued for some listeners. If you get bored after about 5 songs then you might just need to move on to something else. But after a few listens you will get drawn right into the charm of this little band. The sparse arrangements really end up getting under your skin and into your heart. There is something magical about Ida and Lovers Prayers just solidifies that sentiment.
