This was a smart re-issue for Delmark. The reason for this isn't just that Junior was at his finest at these recordings but they featured the likes of Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Johnnie Jones, Otis Spann, Willie Dixon and the Aces in the lineup at various points. When he starts up with his harmonica you are just flabbergasted at the agility he shows. This recording even includes his trademark Hoodoo Man Blues. You would never know that Junior was still a teenager for some of these recordings. His voice is in top notch all the way through. Quoted from the back of the album "these may well be the most perfectly distilled examples of Wells' music ever recorded". Don't just take my word for it. Go out and check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
