It's a mystery to me why Dar Williams has not become an international success. She keeps putting out quality albums and yet no one besides independent radio stations have caught wind of this fine songstress. The Green World marks Dar's 4th album in 8 years, all on Razor & Tie records, as well as one of her strongest to date. The album tends to be a bit of a self affirmation for Dar and her existence which is justified after every album she puts out. The album opens with "Playing to the Firmament" which starts off with a bit of an Abba thing going on at the beginning but intsantly kicks into her narrative style. Another key track is "I Won't Be Your Yoko Ono" which reminds me a bit of Juliana Hatfield. The Green world provides another notch in Dar Williams fine songwriting belt.
