Ever heard of Jade McNelis? No, well do not fret cause neither had I before I got this EP in the mail. So there I was just sitting around when I pop this gem of an album in. The first vocals hit and my jaw drops. I believe me firsts thoughts went something like "Wow this is like Cat Power.....better than Cat Power?........maybe." Color me content kiddos because I just discovered the album that will be bending my ear for the next few weeks, All The Fables courtesy of Jade McNelis. The most shocking part of this experience for me was how strikingly beautiful her voice is. It is so enchanting and dazzling that you can just close your eyes and be at ease. The lyrics are filled with emotion and wit. It is truely an album that makes you feel what she so eloquently describes.
Every single song on this six song EP is literally perfect. My favorite would have to be the opening track Life In Grey, it is beautifully delivered and written. The melancholy is entrancing, as is the rest of the album. Lies and Lock is my next favorite and it is more of the same. In the last song of All The Fables, The Comedian shows her lyrical talents and wit repeating "find a better joke so i can laugh." This album is so beautifully delivered that I do not know how to describe over and over how good this album is. To say it plainly, Thank you Jade McNelis for creating All The Fables, it might break before i get tired of it.
