The bio that I received with this CD perfectly sums up Cross My Heart's sound. "Aggressive yet delicate, diverse collection of songs". As the band progresses through this album you realize the talent this group of musicians actual possess. An emo band that isn't afraid of flexing their aggressive tendencies as well as bearing their soul on the next lick. Vocalist Ryan Shelkatt displays his ability to actually sing and he sings very well too. The guitars, also provided by Shelkett and S. Dwayne Bruner, ring on most of the tracks like they are voice reaching into your soul as well. Cross My Heart manages to perfect the balance of pop and punk that so many emo bands try to perfect. This album fits nicely right into the Deep Elm catalogue.
