There isn't much to say about the Regress Classics Part One. It is basically just another drum and bass compilation with nothing of true value to bestow upon electronic listeners. Each and every song features practically the same beat with similar background samples. There are a few interesting samples in some of the songs but overall there is nothing found within this album that'll have you salivating.
Also, the compilation is two discs of the same song over and over again, and some of those songs push ten minutes in duration. Had this been simply a compilation of one song by each of the artists found within (Mavi, Jimmy Van (feat. Formula), Flatine, NEMA, Pappa/Gilbey, Bertoldo, and Trendroid) it would have been much more.. bearable. However, this was simply two hours of a pumping sampled bass with monotonous samples.
If you need some music to play in the background while you drive as fast as you can down the freeway, by all means pick this up. Also, if there are some songs on this album that you particularly want from an artist on the compilation, again, pick it up. However, I wouldn't suggest this album to anyone looking for something new and intriguing in regards to electronic, or more specifically drum and bass music.
