Another one of those underapreciated albums that never got the recognition it deserved, although it has been quoted as an influence by many major acts today. The dB's debut album was a power-pop masterpiece combining the smarts of Robyn Hitchcock's Soft Boys and the jangle of early Byrds. The result was something fresh that of course was way ahead of it's time. Throw them on tour with Big Star and Elvis Costello and you would have had a brilliant power pop show. Never settling in on a record contract the boy's of The dB's were unfortunately brought to destruction. This is a hard album to track down (I got mine imported from Germany) but one that is definitely worth the effort.
