Benjamin Bates is one of those producers like Daniel Bedingfield. He produces a dance type electro-pop. In Recyclomania, his second effort, Bates takes seemingly generic electro beats and puts even more generic lyrics to it. This release is honestly just another album that will hinder the genre that artists like Daft Punk make so amazing. While there is nothing blaringly wrong with Recyclomania it is just so generic that you will swear you have heard it before. If you are a fan of the genre I am sure you will just eat this album up. But unless you enjoy the electro-dance craze then you will find nothing special about this album except the first two tracks. The first track entitled "Note To Self #1" has a slower melody that is easy to get into for a casual listener. The song has a great message and is easily the best song of the set. The following song is the first track that really adoptes that electro dance vibe. Dubbed "On My Feet" this track brings a fresh beat and mixes it with a nice change of pace throughout the song. The fourth song "Recyclomania" is lyrically the best song of the album. With the first words going something like "Needless to say I've lost my faith In God...and The Church and the government..." it sends a message that is really nice to hear from a producer like Benjamin Bates. The rest of Recyclomania is horribly generic and listening to the whole thing through can be like pulling teeth. The music tires easily and will make you feel like you have had your fill of the genre for a few weeks.
