dewey defeats truman is a very powerful band that has a lot to offer anyone willing to take the time to listen. The Road To Nowhere Maps EP is one of those EP’s that you are left craving more. It is a brief 6 songs of pop-rock bliss that allows you to get right inside of dewey and understand what the band is and how it operates. The band actually walked away with a Best New Artist nomination in the 1997 San Diego Music Awards and haven’t looked back since. Dewey was formed out of the ashes of Red Dye No. 5 and Luper. Their sound is now refined and ready for the masses. What you can expect from dewey defeats truman is well written pop rock tracks that stick to you like a half sucked mint from Dennys. The sound is crisp and well produced on the EP and bound to gain a legion of new fans for the band. Don’t believe me then listen to the vocal harmonies in “Sound Surrounds and you should quickly understand. Watch for a full-length dewey defeats truman album later this year.
