Nik Freitas is undoubtably enjoyable, with sleepy but heartfelt indie rock. "Oh My God" is a great little song, musically and lyrically. On its own, there are few bad things to say about this album.

But upon listening to other artists in this genre -- Ryan Adams, Bright Eyes -- it ends up that this effort falls a tiny bit flat. Freitas does what he does well enough, but plenty of other artists have done it much more progressively and intriguingly. It's nice background music, but doesn't grab your attention. Thankfully, Freitas seems dedicated enough to his craft that I hope this won't be the last we hear from him. As he becomes a little more comfortable in his own skin and carves out a more unique niche for himself, I can definitely see him becoming a solid artist.
