RecommendI don't know much about Distortion Felix but they sure grabbed my attention quickly. They fuse distortion, noise and melody and come up sounding fresh and exciting. Steve Albini lends his magic wand on this recording providing the perfect mix as usual. The songs on I'm an athlete are all across the map too. It starts off with the happy feeling of Instant Phaser and then slows down a bit for the title track. Then they scare the shit out of you with Red Lips which is a spooky song with Manuel Nieto singing about missing her Red Lipstick all over his face and lips. They have gained quite a following in little time with fans from Girls against Boys to Fugazi. A great band to watch out for in the future.
