RecommendThe development of up and coming bands is always interesting especially when they take as long as Aiden did to release their new album, Conviction. And how did Aiden turn out on their second album. Well they did good. They did not do great but they did good. Their sound changed alot and they ditched the screams and picked up a piano the produces soft melodies. Yet still at times they pick up and deliver enjoyably faster sound. The intro track entitled the "Opening Departure" introduces you to their new style and is a slow melodic track with infused with a forementioned piano. From the wistful lyrics and slow pace the album moves in a faster more dance oriented direction. With songs like "She Will Love You" and "Teenage Queen" they adopt a cut loose style that would not be hard to dance to. While other songs that have the same dance type style are enjoyable that are a little more raw and feel a little more creative and not as generic. The song "Darkness" brings back their harder feel a little bit and also brings serious guitar riffs. What really brings this album down is songs like "Moment" with lyrics that are so generic and boring that you will probably never listen to that song agian. As I said before Aiden made a great effort and a good album. Conviction might make them lose some fans but will also brings some new fans. A good album but it does not have much replay value at all.

Honestly i hated it at first. But i left it in my stereo and it grew on me. Then i remembered i hated. Then i kind of liked it. I thought the only way to deal with it was give it an average score. They are rather scene though. I agree.

how dare aiden get anything close to three and a half stars. the vocals blow, the lyrics blow and the music isnt that great either. this band is below average and extremely overrated. The only reason they are so popular, is because of the way they dress. They try to hard to be the new generation AFI. this band is just a failure all around.
