Polar Bear Club was said to have alot of hype. After listening to Somethings Just Disappear it is obvious they simply did not have enough. This album is amazing. The hardcore-punk movement with exceptions of few bands has really been taking a backseat to a few other genres like screamo and pop-punk. But Polar Bear Club really makes you wonder why that is. With vocals anything but smooth they deliver some of the most meaningful lyrics and most energetic unrelenting style of hard punk that you are sure to hear for a long while. In this effort the bring a full-throttle attack. With songs like "Eat Dinner Bury The Dog and Run," "Hollow Place," and "Our Ballads" they take you on a ride powered by jabbing guitars and incredible riffs. While those songs are filled with raw energy songs like Another Night In the Rock" and "Burned Out In A Jar" bring an anthemic factor that make your heartpump and mind race. With lyrics like "For the first time I'm glad you never included me..." they deliver sounds that wrap your mind in a whirlwind of raging emotions. Polar Bear Club is one of the few bands that not only lived up to the hype but surpassed it. Somethings Just Disappear is a thrashingly perfect effort with everything to love and nothing to hate. Brilliant album that I plan on listening to for a long, long time.
