Doughboys - Crush
Crush was the Doughboy's major label debut and, if you ask me, their best too. Even Much Music (Canada's answer to MTV) used one of the songs as their theme for their alternative show for the longest time. With Daniel Rey (Ramones and L7) producing and Dave Ogilvie producing they finally got the sound they were looking for. With John Kastner's ear for the perfect power pop sound, Crush was his vehicle to getting his music to the masses. With such outstanding tracks as Shine and Fix Me this is a Canadian Classic most definitely. I could never get tired of this album. R.I.P. Doughboys and I wish Kastner all the luck with his new band All Systems Go.
