The first time I heard The Most Serene Republic I was convinced that it was an awful rip-off of Death Cab For Cutie and Broken Social Scene. This album completely changed my mind. The first track after the ambient intro is the perfect opening song to reintroduce your ears to this band. The sound is fresh, and the way they deploy it is exciting.
