A band name only goes so far... then the music must take the wheel from there. With bullets&bubblegum's e.p. Crave For Gone, you have an existential mystified banding of their name since 1999. Softly paced acoustic pop with a strong PJ Harvey vibe, most of the three track compilation, bullets&bubblegum seemed to be completely devoured the subtleties of eighties artist like Brian Eno and The Cranberries. Lots of production corner cuts, such as bad vocal faders and echoes. Vocals with a fluttering instrumentation make for inane moods after a few tracks. However, song three "Seventeen", is a bit more upbeat and fast paced, and perhaps a silver lining. I'm not sure if these Oregon natives are still recording, but if so, they should take their natural rhythms and kick up the production level to match their brand name. A note to B&B, a bit more Aggro, and a little less Pop to take full advantage of that powerful name.
