The original trio Drums & Tuba have made the leap from little indie My Pal God Records to a more prominent one being Righteous Babe Records, owned and operated by none other that Ani Difranco. You may think that it's a bit kitschy using a tuba instead of a bass guitar but wait until you hear what Drums and Tuba have to offer. Before you know it kids will be asking their parents for tuba lessons instead of guitar lessons. The trio of Tony, Brian and Neal is probably one of the strongest 3 man bands I have witnessed. If you take the post rock styles of bands such as Tortoise and throw in some groovy jazz you will be almost to where Drums and Tuba are in their mindset. The songs are all instrumental but if they don't have your head bobbing by the time the album is over... Vinyl Killer is as good a place to start as any because they are more experienced than they were on 1999's Flatheads and Spoonies. As soon as the album is over you will find yourself reaching for the stereo remote to play it again. Drums and Tuba provide a long awaited fresh sound in the rock world.
