Egon - Phonetic Disasters
Egon is a band that I am surprised hasn’t made it on every critics plate. They have a very unique sound that would appeal to fans of slo-core as well as fairly upbeat indie rock. Vocalist Victor Talamantes has really discovered the potential of his voice on Phonetic Disasters proving that this album is anything but. The line-up has changed since last year’s Behind the Curtain but it proves to be a very wise move on Victor’s part. Denise Garza has moved into the keyboard position, occasionally playing violin as well and Ray Olivas has teken over Joey’s spot on drums. It’s this type of perserverance that gets a band recognized. Egon possesses a great vocalist and songwriter and should be a success story sooner than later.
