Elefant is a new group of rocking musicians from New York City. Their music is very guitar oriented and quite unique sound. Lead Singer Diego Garcia sounds a wee bit like Mr. Bowie but other than that the comparisons are a little hard to come by. Gallery Girl is a three-song introduction to Elefant but we are told to expect their full-length entitled Sunlight Makes Me Paranoid in April of this year. On Gallery Girl, we receive three equally smart songs that are full of melody and that are well written. The first song is the title track and it is a little on the dark side but you are held in with Diego’s charismatic vocals. “Annie� is a little quieter but the focus again is Garcia’s voice. My favorite, though, is “Bokkie� with its “ba baa ba baa� chorus. The band proves to be a tight knit group on these three songs and I look forward to hearing more from Elefant.
