I have been granted the honor of reviewing Signal The Escape's album, These Scars Are Just The Beginning. I call this an honor because they provided a very solid album that has the potential to get them somewhere in the music business. When you listen to their entire album you notice that they have a very unique style of playing music. You get the feeling like you're listening to something like A Static Lullaby or even some Alexisonfire. But then there are the other times when they completely stray from that path like in the song Maudlin. It's good to see a band that knows what they are capable of, and uses it to their advantage. By track four (As Miles Sing The Distance) you're already hooked into the album, listening for the next addition to your soundtrack to play in your mind.
Songs such as Exorcism in the ER, Borderline Stalker, Maudlin, and May I Have This Dance, are the ones that will make you a fan of Signal The Escape. These guys are on the list of bands you'll need to look out for. Their talent seems like it could only continue to grow after this release, and I personally cannot wait to see what they do next.
