Exploding Head is basically a talented duo made up of Ed Stankewick and Arthur Schupbach . Ed an Arthur started playing together a few years back in a band called Split based out of Manhattan. They recorded an EP produced by Kevin Salem and shortly after Split parted ways. They ended up recording another EP as Exploding Head and received plenty of press. So needless to say, Into The Ether has been a long time in the making. They have a jangly psychedelic sound similar to that of The Shins and have a great ability to write a catchy song. There are a few songs that they go after the lo-fi sound (“Gigantic Time) but it still works out nicely. The songs all have a happy feeling to them that are pleasant on the ears and a treat to play for others. While Exploding Head aren’t all that original they still write some great songs. This proves that all you need for a successful band is a couple of multi-instrumentalists and good songs.
