The new album from Hollywood's Skumlove is an impressive indie outing. The lead singer and main man behind the band, Skum, is obviously influenced from the likes of Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Sisters of Mercy and Rob Zombie. The band mixes a concoction of electronics, rock, programmed drums, and catchy lyrics coming up with quite the potion.
Songs of Lust and Corrosion (a clever play on Depeche Mode's Songs of Faith And Devotion) rocks out like nobodies business. The band is leading with "My Machine" as the first single and while I might question the choice I do have to say that it is one of the best tracks of the 11. I really enjoyed "I Am Your God". It hits like a ton of bricks and yet it has the hooks in the samples to keep you coming back for more. Skum and his crew have a great process down. The songs are all tight and catchy. They all have dark lyrics that even the evilest metal fan would enjoy. "Welcome To Hell" is yet another great song they could punish with. It's a little slower but no less heavy. It's not very often where I think remixes added to the end of the same album as the orignals is a good idea but the "Dirty French Machine Remix" of "My Machine" is killer!
If you can't get enough of your 90's industrial metal, Skumlove is for you. If you missed out on the 90's industrial metal, may I suggest you check out Skumlove? These guys do it very well, and to top it off, it's fresh.

Hey this is Skum the singer of Skumlove and I wanna thank devilgurl for putting us on this site and thank everyone for their honest and killer reviews.
Gotta say this is my favorite album. A lot of bands never say that and I wrote this album with everything that I am and these are the songs I always wanted to hear and they are honest and raw and everything that I am. Hope it makes you feel naughty in all your dirty places.
stay evil,
Skum

These guys are pretty good, they bring me back to my old love for stuff like Rob Zombie, Static X, etc. Industrial nu-metal would be an accurate tag but these guys are more industrial than anything, the Ministry comparisons are fair in that regard. If you miss the age of hard rock when Manson, Zombie and Reznor were on top, Skumlove will appeal to you.

Skumlove's a band out of Hollywood that after years of hard work has landed a deal with Misfortune Records...Skum on vocals,Gina on lead guitar,DB on bass, and DJ on drums...make quite a industrial rock/metal quartet.
Skumlove's debut album "Songs of Lust and Corrosion" kicks ass...with its relentless evil/erotic industrial metal music. Skum's vocals and his lyrics are clear and powerful and just as evil/erotic.
The whole album has great songs...but a few are worth extra mention...in Break You Down,Skum lyrics take it step beyond the Stone's Paint It Black...in I am your God,Skum beckons you to "worship" him...the Godless Remix has a heavy erotic beat and reitterates Skum's plea in I am your God...and to hell with Stranger Danger, look out for Skum, when he sings I Come for your Children !
