Sarah Fimm sounds like almost a spitting image of Sarah McLachlan. That’s really not a bad comparison either. While the market has been flooded with female vocalists after the success of Lilith Fair, there really hasn’t been a grand entrance since. A Perfect Dream is a beautiful album that really needs some recognition. It’s a welcome addition to the overcrowded female vocalist world. Some tracks really wouldn’t sound that out of place on a Sarah Mc album, which is saying a lot for this young singer/songwriter. Her arrangements are really well thought out and songs such as “Lioness reach out experimentally. She also has the sexy style that Tori Amos has in songs like “In The Red. Fimm has a strong voice and a great music writing talent. Even the production on A Perfect Dream is nice and crisp, the way you want an album of this nature. Hopefully next time, Sarah will spend a little more time and money on her album artwork. It’s not very appealing.
