This new album by one half of the influential Crowded House and Split Enz showcases why Neil Finn is regarded as one of the worlds best singer/songwriters. One All opens up with two mellower tracks. The first is one called “The Climber�and the second is “Driving Me Mad�. When he kicks into second gear on “Hole In The Ice� you are completely ready for something a little more uptempo and that’s exactly what Neil delivers. On “Last To Know� Finn manages to get into a bit of an americana mode with a swaying tempo. This happens to be the best track on the album. There are quite an array of guest artists on One All as well. Lisa Germano helps out on numerous tracks providing violin and vocals. Sheryl Crow is on the album singing and playing accordian. Mitchell Froom is all over doing mostly keyboards. Tchad Blake (who can always be found with Mitchell Froom) is behind production duties. One All is a great compliment to Neil Finn’s songwriting and even if you aren’t a Crowded House fan you will find some joy in Neil’s masterful songwriting.
