The Rocket Summer are one of those bands where you either enjoy it secretly, or hate it openly. One factor that cannot be denied is that Do You Feel is one of the catchiest albums of the year. The album starts off with Bryce Avery quickly displaying his vocal prowess, falsetto, into the air. Screaming vocals of "break it out," and quickly traveling into the piano laced "So Much Love." I'm a fan of everything from death metal to pop punk, so The Rocket Summer squeezes in right at the end of that spectrum. The success of Hello, Good Friend would be a happy pinnacle for most bands, but The Rocket Summer stepped it up a notch for this album. Every song makes you want to sing along, which for a pop album is the key. The strongest point in this album comes with the track "So, In This Hour." It highlights Bryce Avery's sometimes surprising vocal range along with the bands overall ability to make a large sound for a pop album. If you are looking for an album to kick your feet to, to move your head from side to side, and to just have fun, Do You Feel is an album worth a try. Not the most musically challenging, but a fun ride from beginning to end.
