A lot of the bands in the pop-rock scene need to be arrested just for making terrible music. I mean, when a new pop-rock album comes out you usually think it's going to be terrible. Fortunately, that is not the case for Pennsylvania's own The Scenic. These men know how to give pop-rock the justice it deserves. Their debut record, Find Yourself Here, released in 2008 on Victory Records is nothing short of addicting.
Find Yourself Here starts of with Lights Out, a nice lighthearted song that kind of puts you in the vibe for what you should expect with the rest of the album. It has a nice beat to it which makes you bob your head or maybe even tap your feet. The next track, The American Way is the best song off the album, in my own personal opinion. Right from the beginning the track is easy to get into. Once the bands lead you into the chorus, you can't help but sing along with Jeremy.
Sometimes you might often find some songs a little annoying after listening to them again and again. Either way each song serves a purpose on the album, and when they are all pulled together they create something great. If you are into bands like The Maine, Boys Like Girls, or The Material, then I would suggest checking out The Scenic's debut album, Find Yourself Here. More than likely, you won't be disappointed with your purchase.
