Its never a good thing to judge something by its cover, but this is Purple Helmet. Right off the bat, you know this album is going to be chock full with balls to the wall riffs. The album is called Party in Liquor Square, and if you think hard enough about it, youll see the acronym. Add that to the mix with the electric purple logo, purple lightning bolts, and songs titles that are so grossly informative, itll be no surprise that the local hard hitters come out of the woodwork when Purple Helmet stomps through town.

This aint no heavy metal, either! This booty shaking hard rock band was born on the bar room floor. Sure, youve heard versions of these songs played before by a slew of other musicians, but as the band likes to say  originality? Who needs that? And indeed, rock n roll isnt about making you think, its about making you drink. Drink to the idea of Tenacious D kicking their jokes to the gutter and being serious about their lyrical content. Drink to Lemmy and thank him for Motorhead. And you have to drink when you listen to AC/DC playing some of the ugliest, formulaic music ever made. If thats in the front of your mind, youll be on the same level with Purple Helmet, thinking about sex, drugs, and rock n roll!

In short, the album is a view through a window into the world of cock rock. Party In Liquor Square brings just what the song chants, and thats a damn good reason to make it out to one of their shows. They have non-choreographed dance moves that bring ZZ Top to mind, their jokes will make you run to the bar for more beer, and the other bands on the bill that night will have to work real hard to compete against the righteous rock of PURPLE HELMET!
