Gorky's Zygotic Mynci has decided to get their roots out before recording their new album due early 2001. This 8 track mini-album (a bit too big to be declared an ep) is nothing less than brillant! It's very quiet, but once you understand that the band has toned down for the entire album you can start to appreciate the sincere beauty that they are able to project with the music. It's been along time since I have heard acoustic guitar such as the likes on this album. The Blue Trees contains 3 instrumentals and the rest of the vocal tracks are equally as brilliant. The tear sheet that came with this was declaring the track "Faces like summer" to be McCartney-esque and lo-and-behold it rings true. Paul himself would stand in awe. Dabbling in folk and bordering in tranquil beauty GZM have managed to keep the Welsh proud with this little stellar album.
