RecommendOne thing is for sure, The Status will never be accused of not being energetic enough. This Atlanta, Georgia based artist was seemingly founded by Anthony Raneri of Bayside. If you're looking for that bouncy melodic rock with edge on the side, The Status is your band. Great pacing, and energy is what these guys have to build on. I have to say, I think the instrumentation fairs better when the lead vocalist (Ben Grant) gets deeper in pitch and more aggressive. For instance, one of the standout track's here is Where The Heart Is. The chords are fantastic and create a melody that will stick to your brain, and intermittently Grant manages to lower his pitch to point where my liking has me wanting to keep this disc in my player. Then on other bars, he just goes too high. Call this a matter of taste, but it seems The Status is so close, but something needs to be tweaked.
