Obviously the Blood Brothers hadn't finished what they set out to do. Late 2007 the band called it quits but they are all together again with a project cleverly called Past Lives. And while the Past Lives sound may be considered a little more refined than that of The Blood Brothers you really can't deny that these are the same dudes.
That works, kind of. I found myself looking for something new here on their debut EP, Strange Symmetry. I didn't want more Blood Brothers but that's basically what I got. It is a toned down version of the Brothers but just as crazy and chaotic as you would remember. The middle track, "Skull Lender" makes sure that you don't forget their Past Lives.
If you liked their previous band then there is no reason not to relish in Past Lives. You might be like me and wish that Strange Symmetry had another song or two. It is, in fact, over in 15 minutes.
