Believe it or not, this is only Autour De Lucie's third album. This Parisien outfit has been together since 1993. I guess it is the laid back European nature that lends itself to this. Speaking of laid back, that's what Autour De Lucie is all about; laid back vocals (sexy I might add) and mellow groovy beats. Faux Mouvement marks a bit of a change as Sebastien Buffett joins as a percussionist and programmer. It stretches the band out into a welcome terrain and gives them a little more depth than they previously had. You could almost call them French Trip Hop. As always, Valerie Leuillot's voice is devine. It is soft and gentle and yet she is able to sound powerful at the same time. Obviously the Serge Gainsbourg school of vocals. Faux Mouvement marks a big leap for Autour De Lucie. They should gain a lot of recognition for this one.
