Once sharing the celtic spotlight with Donal Lunny in the influential band, The Bothy Band, Kevin Burke is one of the masters of the Sligo style of Irish fiddling. Despite being born in London, England Kevin has always had strong ties to County Sligo. Burke had also played with Christy Moore, Arlo Guthrie, Ry Cooder, just to name a few. This collection was originally released in 1977 by Moses Asch for Folkways Records but now, for the first time, it's available on CD. The pieces Kevin Burke has done on here range from solo fiddle pieces to group pieces that included guitar, mandolin, banjo, autoharp and the Irish bodhran. Although Burke had progressed tremendously from these recordings it still shows how great a fiddler he was to start with.
