Manu Chao - Clandestino
For those of you familiar with the Spanish Rock group Manu Negra will recognize Manu Chao as the front man. Clandestino tends to be a lot lighter than anything done by Manu Negra but Chao has come up with a very soulful latino style. Mostly acoustic guitars with tribal percussion sounds lends itself to a very unique listen. He mixes Carribean, African and South American sounds to come up with something all his own. It holds together so well that it almost sounds like a theme album. He mixes Spanish, French and English lyrics as well. Very refreshing even with the dark overtones.
