Very upbeat and full sounding, In-Flight Safety's latest has an energy that reinvigorates a sound that has not been popular since the haydays of The Cure. "Big White Elephant" is a testament. Fans of Coldplay should flock immediately to their first track "I Could Love You More".
But don't just check these guys off as a genre tribute act, they still manage to mince classy 21st century melodies. Piano/organ induced from time to time, there's nothing overwhelming about their sound. Very simple grooves of Alt/Pop that come in tasty waves.
Track six "Actors" has a strong backbone and feverishly sticks to your brain. Enjoyable harmonics that signal in and out like a train passing through.
Ordinarily I'm bored with a smooth and predictable recording. Something about the lead vocals that stabilizing their sound. How about a tour with Dear and the Headlights?
