Hot Chelle Rae

Hot Chelle Rae is a new Pop/Rock band with a debut that seems to be getting a lot of attention. It’s called Lovesick Electric. We asked the band for some recommendations. This is what HCR came back with:

Müm / A group from Vienna, Austria [Edit – They are actually from Iceland] … They produce a marvelous sound that traps you between ethereal instrumental and charismatic female vocal moments, for those who are into Sigur Ros and similar artists… a perfect companion for relaxing, sleeping, driving, or working. Song to look for: “We have a map of the piano”

Elbow / A UK band that I recommend to everyone. Their music is consistently on every playlist I make. The lead male vocalist has a warm, natural tone that delivers presence and comfort through every note. The arrangements are beautiful, and the songs are elegant. I can’t give more praise about these guys. Songs to look for: “I’ve Got Your Number” & “Leaders of the Free World”

The Notwist / If you like chill programmed drums/synths/pads/keys with very cool lyrical content, this guy does it right. There are a lot of people trying to do this now, but he’s been doing it for quite some time. Cool grooves and unique samples. Song to look for: “Leave Me Paralyzed”

Enjoy The Zoo / These guys are a bottomless pit of powerful, slick, rhythmic, danceable beat sex. Gnarly tasteful guitar parts, a mind blowing drum/bass section and sexy, clever lyrics that’ll crush you and make you dig it whether you want to or not. Song to look for “Changed”

Ladyhawke / Female vocal driven, drive with your windows down, trashy toned, 80’s grooved beat buster. I love this group, not sure how they’re not all over the place, but the songs are dope, the vibe is killer… a guaranteed addiction! Song to look for: “Magic”
