The Australian 4 piece Jet, famous for their song “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” have called it quits.

In a message posted to the group’s website, the rockers announced that its members — Nic Cester, Mark Wilson, Cameron Muncey and Chris Cester — are splitting up. “After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group,” reads the message. “From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight.”

“Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” the garage-rock cut from first album Get Born, was featured in a 2003 Apple iPod commercial and has sold 1.3 million downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Get Born, which also featured “Cold Hard Bitch” and “Rollover DJ,” has sold 1.7 million copies in the U.S., while their final two full-lengths, 2006’s Shine On and 2009’s Shaka Rock, combined for 212,000 U.S. copies.

Chris and Mark have a new group calledĀ DAMNDOGS.
