Solitary, the more I get exposed to Devin Townsend, the more I appreciate his talents. He’s like the Canadian version of Mike Patton. SERIOUSLY! And I didn’t know he was producing. Thanks for teaching me something.
That’s an accurate description for sure, his rather off-the-wall style and vocal intensity screams of Patton and all the while it also remains it’s own insane brand of music. I’m glad you’re enjoying his stuff, imo he deserves every fan he gets.
I think the Patton comparison comes with the sheer diversity of vocal talents. The way the can sing so soulfully and the sing with such a ferocious edge is magical and not done well by many.
