I won’t write much about the signing but will point you over to Thursday’s website so you can read why the band is so excited about the prospect of working with a label instead of for a label. As you know they’ve had some major issues with labels in the past so hopefully this new relationship will foster this band, who I believe has yet to unleash it’s full potential.

But of all labels Epitaph? That’s where bands go to die. Worst signing ever.
Nah, just cuz their name is “Epitaph” doesn’t mean bands die there. I believe that Epitaph is one of the few labels that actually leave a band alone in what to deliver. Gallows, Matches, Sounds Of Animals Fighting… I rest my case.
Hey, now when TSOAF switch? And notice the marketing on their latest record? The Matches new album got barely any attention as well. Thursday will sell simply because they are Thursday.
So why’s this the worst signing ever then? I’m confused. If Thursday sell because they are Thursday then what other label would have befit such a band?
Nothing, I kind of made my own antithesis, but all the bands you mentioned have little to no marketing. Maybe it’s my distaste towards their other bands that I have a preconceived notion. Thursday is just on that lineup to me.
